The auto sector has been badly affected due to the Corona epidemic. 1. Maruti Suzuki:
As always, Maruti Suzuki has become the largest passenger vehicle seller in the country. The company’s vehicle portfolio includes vehicles from almost every segment from hatchbacks to sedans, SUVs and MPVs. The company updated some of its models last year and also introduced it in the market, due to which the company has sold a total of 12,93,840 vehicles in the year 2021.
2. Hyundai:
If there is any brand that gives competition to the passenger car segment Maruti Suzuki, it is the South Korean company Hyundai, once again last year it has become the second best selling brand in the country. Hyundai has sold a total of 11 models in the Indian market, in which there is an answer to Maruti Suzuki in almost every segment. After Maruti, till now Hyundai was the only brand that also sells CNG cars, but in the past, Tata Motors has also joined this race.

3. Tata Motors:
Tata Motors has registered the fastest growth in the past few years, with the company aggressively introducing multiple models in the domestic market. It has become the third largest selling car brand in the country due to its stellar models like Harrier, Safari, Altroz, Nexon, Tiago and Tigor. The company has worked the most on new trendy designs with safety and advanced features in its vehicles, in the Global NCAP crash test, the company’s models like Nexon and Altroz have got 5 star rating while Tiago and Tigor come with 4 star rating . Apart from this, Nexon EV has also emerged as the best selling electric vehicle in the country, which has contributed significantly to the sales.
4. Kia India:
South Korean brand Kia Motor has surprised everyone with its impressive performance in the Indian market in a short span of time. This company, which started its journey with the Seltos SUV, has become the fourth best selling brand in the country in the last year 2021. Presently, the company’s portfolio includes Seltos, Sonnet, Carnival and the recently introduced Karens MPV. Kia India has sold around 1,55,686 units of vehicles, leaving behind many big brands like Mahindra, Toyota and Honda etc.

5. Mahindra & Mahindra:
The past year was also very special for Mahindra, a domestic company known for sport utility vehicles, on the occasion of the festive season at the end of the year 2020, the company had launched its next generation Thar in the market, while last year the company launched its mid-size. Introduced the SUV XUV700. Presently, the company sells a total of 9 models, which includes 4 SUVs and 1 MUV model. Last year, the company sold around 1,55,539 units of vehicles and with this it has become the fifth best selling brand.
Talking about other brands, the sixth, seventh and eighth positions have been occupied by Toyota, Renault and Honda respectively. These companies did not perform well in the market last year. Apart from this, Ford and British brand Morris Garages (MG Motor) were on the ninth and tenth positions respectively. Ford is almost out of the Indian market and the British brand that entered the Indian market with MG Hector has been able to sell a total of 35,597 units of vehicles.
