Gopalganj. With the onset of westerly winds in Bihar, fire has started wreaking havoc. On Tuesday, the westerly wind created chaos in the entire district in Gopalganj. A massive fire broke out in Gopalpur village of Mohammadpur police station area. The gas cylinder installed in the house exploded. Houses of about 10 people were burnt.
At the same time, two innocent children were burnt to death in the fire, while one person got seriously burnt while trying to save them. The deceased were identified as Nishani Kumari (6-years), daughter of Brajesh Mahato, and Kuldeep Kumar (2-years). After receiving the information, the fire brigade team reached the spot and after much effort brought the fire under control. Police is investigating how the fire broke out.
DM Maqsood Alam took information about the incident and sent Sadar SDM Dr. Pradeep Kumar to the spot and got the investigation done. The DM gave instructions to immediately provide relief material to the victims. It is said that after preparing the morning meal, Brajesh Mahato’s family went to work in the fields.
After some time, suddenly the house of Brajesh Mahato caught fire and within no time the flames spread to the houses of 10 people due to the westerly wind. In this fire, the residential houses of Brajesh Mahato, Umesh Mahato, Arvind Mahato, Upendra Mahato, Chandrika Mahato, Dhrup Raut, Subhash Raut, Arvind Raut, Pappu Tiwari and Sunita Devi were burnt.
