Union Minister Smriti Irani has hit back at Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal’s statement in which he alleged that the Election Commission has announced the postponement of MCD elections under pressure from the Centre. Kejriwal said that perhaps this would have happened for the first time in the country’s 75-year history that the central government would have directly asked the election commission of a state to postpone the elections.Advertisement
Smriti Irani has questioned Chief Minister Kejriwal as to why the fund of MCD was stopped for seven years. Said why the money for parks, hospitals and community centers was stopped. Why did Kejriwal not approve the SCD reforms. MCD was deprived of Rs 13,000 crore. Also, the money for development works was deliberately stopped. Not only this, the money of the sweepers was also stopped.
