MCD Elections 2022: The Aam Aadmi Party, which formed the government with a thumping majority in Punjab, has made a big attack on the BJP and the Center regarding the MCD elections (Municipal Corporation of delhi). Aam Aadmi Party’s national convener Arvind Kejriwal says that BJP is scared. This is the reason why MCD elections are being postponed. Arvind Kejriwal said on Friday, the date of MCD elections was to be announced on March 9 at 5 pm, but an hour before the same day, the central government wrote to the state election commission to unite all the 3 municipal bodies and thus The election got delayed. The Election Commission also agreed to the Centre’s recommendation. It is not right to cancel the election. This will weaken the role of the Election Commission.
Kejriwal further said, the main motive was not the integration of all the 3 MCDs. Had the BJP wanted, it would have done this work in the last 7 years. The motive was to postpone the election… I appeal to the PM with folded hands that if we force the Election Commission to cancel the election, it weakens it and the country. We have to protect the country.
Delhi Chief Minister further asked, what if before the Lok Sabha elections tomorrow, the government says that they want to bring presidential system instead of parliamentary system and want to change the constitution, so postpone the elections. Will the elections be postponed? Will state elections be postponed if they say they want to unite 2 states?
