The BJP is also a partner in the ruling NDA government in Meghalaya and National People’s Party leader Conrad Sangma is the chief minister from this alliance.
The CBI told the committee that 150 requests are pending in these states for investigation of various cases. These include cases of bank fraud, forgery, money irregularities. CBI Director Subodh Jaiswal and other officers appeared before the Parliamentary Standing Committee on Personnel, Public Grievances, Law and Justice. BJP MP Sushil Modi is chairing this committee.
