New Delhi. PM Narendra Modi is one of the most popular leaders of the country. Wherever he goes, a large number of youth also come to support him. Karnataka Minister Shivraj Tangadagi said something about PM Modi which crossed all limits of decorum. He has said that the youth and students who raise slogans of ‘Modi-Modi’ should be slapped. The minister also targeted the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) led central government, accusing it of not fulfilling its promise of providing two crore jobs every year. The Kannada and Culture Minister also said that the BJP should be ashamed of seeking votes in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections as it has failed on the development front as well.
“They should be ashamed,” Tangadagi said. They could not do even a single development work, then from what mouth are they asking for votes.. They had promised to provide two crore jobs. Did he give job to anyone? When you ask about jobs, they say – sell pakodas. shame on them.” Addressing a meeting of Congress workers at Karatagi in Koppal district, he said, if any student or youth still says ‘Modi-Modi’ then they should be slapped.”

BJP has petitioned the Election Commission demanding strict action against the minister. Calling it a clear violation of the Model Code of Conduct, the BJP said that he should be barred from the election process and from campaigning in favor of the Congress. Accusing the minister of instigating Congress workers against BJP voters and young voters, the opposition party (BJP) in the state said, ‘This may create fear among young voters and they may stay away from voting.’
