Nagpur. Sarsanghchalak of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) Dr. Mohan Bhagwat has targeted the rule of Mughals without taking his name. Mohan Bhagwat on Tuesday targeted the Mughals by naming Chhatrapati Shivaji and the Bhonsle rulers of Nagpur and described their era as tyrannical. Mohan Bhagwat also said at the function of Rajratna Award Committee that one ideology or one person can neither make nor spoil the country. Without naming the Mughals, Mohan Bhagwat said that Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj established Swarajya. During his time South India could be freed from atrocities.
Bhagwat further put forth his views about the Bhonsle kings. He said that North and East India were freed from atrocities during the rule of Bhonsle family of Nagpur. Mohan Bhagwat said that the Bhonsle family had joined the RSS during the time of Dr. Keshav Baliram Hedgewar. He said that good countries of the world have all kinds of ideas. They have all kinds of arrangements and these countries are moving ahead with these arrangements only. One person, one idea, one group and ideology cannot make or break a country. Bhagwat expressed his views on many other issues as well.
Mohan Bhagwat was embroiled in controversy in the past because of one of his statements. Then he said in a program that the Pandits have created the caste system. All the people of the Brahmin community had expressed their displeasure on this. After which a clarification was given by the RSS that Mohan Bhagwat had not spoken about Brahmins but about the learned. After which the controversy arising on this issue was pacified. Now everyone’s eyes are on how the opposition reacts to Bhagwat’s opinion about the Mughals.
