Udaipur. Hindustan Zinc Limited, the world’s largest integrated zinc producer, recently organized Sakhi Utsav 2025 in the fields of Rajasthan and Uttarakhand with great enthusiasm. The company’s major social initiative Sakhi aims to unite rural women and empower them. This initiative has enriched the lives of more than 25 thousand women in the state through various employment and credit linking opportunities. The festival was held in Udaipur, Bhilwara, Chittorgarh, Rajsamand in Rajasthan and Rudrapur district of Uttarakhand, which included more than 7 thousand participants, including Sakhi women, local community members, officers and school students. Various exhibitions, awareness campaigns and cultural programs were organized through this festival. The festival concluded as Sakhi Festival 2025, which was held in Zinc City, Udaipur.
The festival brought the rural and urban audiences on a platform, in which the rich cultural heritage of Rajasthan was presented from the point of view of strong women. Activities included live skills, stories of telling fields, financial literacy sessions and youth leadership awareness programs. Local crafts, processed foods, community fairs and traditional presentations, Sakhi Festival symbolized the entrepreneurship and creativity shown at the Sakhi Festival, bringing changes at the basic level by rural women.
Arun Mishra Chief Executive Officer Hindustan Zinc said that, “Sakhi women are not only ahead in the community, but they are transformative women who shaped rural India. Their firmness, entrepreneurship and social commitment are the foundations of our inclusive development. Communities are the backbone, and the Sakhi festival for us is a symbol of our long -standing stable and long -term development. ”
Various activities were organized in Sakhi Utsav at all operating places. The women participated in sports competitions such as Rope Kassi, and Musical Chairs, which had a sense of enthusiasm and cooperation. Powerful street plays were presented by Sakhi members, in which gender equality and social customs were discussed. Cultural presentations were full of folk traditions of Rajasthan and Uttarakhand. Skill performance included handmade textiles, spices, pickles and other products, reflecting the sense of entrepreneurship of self -help groups. Interactive quiz competitions on government schemes, self -help groups awareness and general knowledge were an important part of enlightenment and confidence building.
Through the Sakhi initiative, the network of more than 2 thousand self -help groups motivates women to break orthodox thinking and bring social and economic progress to their communities. Sakhi not only contributed to economic empowerment, but it has become a movement that is writing a new story of self -reliance and social change. Women are becoming a structure of progress with their strength and determination, breaking obstacles and raising the entire communities.
Along with the empowerment of women, Hindustan is making strong efforts to encourage local talent in zinc quality education, sustainable livelihood opportunities, health care, arts and culture, water conservation and hygiene, football, and affect the lives of more than 20 lakh people in more than 4 thousand villages. The initiatives of Hindustan Zinc, who secured a place in the top 10 CSR companies in India, are evidence that the company is committed in the direction of a strong, self -sufficient Rajasthan with inclusion, innovation and environmental responsibility.
