In Bihar, the existence of NDA’s ally Vikassheel Insaan Party (VIP) completely ended in the assembly on Wednesday. All the three VIP MLAs have joined the BJP. With the joining of three MLAs, the BJP has become the single largest party in the Bihar Assembly.
The number of BJP MLAs in the Bihar Assembly has increased from 74 to 77. Earlier RJD was the largest party with 75 MLAs. VIP had four MLAs, of whom only three were left after the death of Musafir Paswan.

By-election to be held in Bochhan
In the 2020 assembly elections, four VIP candidates who were included in the NDA were victorious. Among them, Mishrilal Yadav won from Alinagar, Swarna Singh from Gaurabauram, Raju Singh from Sahebganj and Musafir Paswan from Bochahan. After the death of Musafir Paswan, there is a by-election in Bochahan on April 12. VIP and BJP were face-to-face regarding this by-election.
In Bochahan assembly by-election, BJP gave its candidate from Bochahan. Expressing his displeasure over this, Mukesh Sahni nominated Geeta Kumari, daughter of former minister Ramai Ram, as his candidate. After this, on Tuesday, a day before, he made a statement that he has been thrown out of NDA. The very next day, on Wednesday, all the MLAs of his party extended support to the BJP.
Due to the UP elections, the distance between VIP and BJP had started increasing.
