Mumbai Indians Haridan Pandya in IPL 2024: Mumbai Indians, captained by Hardik Pandya, have finally won their first match in this year’s IPL. This victory has come after three consecutive defeats, hence it becomes even more important. Mumbai had lost in the last match at their home i.e. Wankhede Stadium, but the team has broken the losing streak at the same venue. With this, MI has made a new record which even KKR and CSK have not been able to do till now.
This is Mumbai Indians’ 50th IPL win at Wankhede Stadium.
In fact, the win that Mumbai Indians has registered against Delhi Capitals in the match played at Wankhede Stadium is also their 50th win on this ground. Earlier the team had won 49 matches. Apart from Mumbai Indians, there is no other team which has been successful in winning so many matches on its home ground. It is important to keep in mind here that the 50 wins we are mentioning also include the Super Over win.
KKR and CSK’s number after this
In this matter, KKR i.e. Kolkata Knight Riders is in second place. KKR has succeeded in winning a total of 48 matches in the history of IPL at its home ground i.e. Eden Gardens in Kolkata. The team has won only 41 matches at its home M Chinnaswamy Stadium. Rajasthan Royals i.e. RR team has won 36 matches so far at its home Sawaiman Singh Stadium in Jaipur.
MI team reached number 8 in the points table
Before this match, Mumbai team was at the last i.e. tenth position in the IPL 2024 points table. But now the team has won only one match, but the team has directly moved from tenth position to eighth position. Now there are three teams which have two points each. Apart from Mumbai, Delhi and Bengaluru have also won one match. But due to net run rate, Mumbai Indians team has directly reached number eight. It will be interesting to see whether the team will be able to continue this trend in future also.
