Suryakumar Yadav scored a century
Mumbai Indians had a very bad start against Sunrisers Hyderabad. When Rohit Sharma returned to the pavilion after scoring four runs and Ishan Kishan returned after scoring 9 runs. After this Naman Dheer could not even open his account. But then Suryakumar Yadav presented a display of explosive batting. He hit strokes all over the field. It was because of him that Mumbai Indians team was successful in winning the match. He scored 102 runs in 51 balls, which included 12 fours and 6 sixes. Apart from him, Tilak Verma scored 37 runs in 32 balls, which included 6 fours. Pat Cummins, Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Mark Jason took 1-1 wicket for Hyderabad.
Abhishek-Head gave a fast start to Hyderabad
Travis Head and Abhishek Sharma (11) once again gave Sunrisers an aggressive start. Debutant Anshul Kamboj had bowled the head but it was declared a no ball due to his feet coming out of the crease. Bumrah broke the 56-run partnership for the first wicket by dismissing Abhishek in the sixth over. Head got a second lease of life against Kamboj in the eighth over when Nuwan Thushara took an easy catch at third man. However, this bowler did not give up and took his first wicket of IPL by bowling Mayank Agarwal (five) in the same over. Head then, while trying to complete his half-century with a big shot against Chawla, got caught by Tilak Verma at deep square leg.
Hardik Pandya took three wickets
In the next over, Hardik showed the way to the pavilion to Nitish Kumar Reddy (20), while Chawla trapped Heinrich Klaasen (2) in his spin and gave the fifth blow to Sunrisers at 96 runs. Marco Jansen (17) hit some good shots but he and Shahbaz Ahmed (12) became Hardik’s victims in the 16th over. In the next over, Cummins hit a six off Chawla but this bowler trapped Abdul Samad (three) LBW. But Cummins hit two fours and two sixes and made an unbroken partnership of 37 runs in 19 balls with Sanveer Singh (eight not out) for the ninth wicket, taking the team to a challenging score.
For Mumbai, experienced leg spinner Piyush Chawla (three wickets for 33 runs) and captain Hardik Pandya (three wickets for 31 runs) bowled brilliantly. Jasprit Bumrah (one wicket for 23 runs) was once again economical while Anshul Kamboj (one wicket for 42 runs) impressed in his debut match.
