Meerut (Uttar Pradesh). In Meerut, Uttar Pradesh, police have registered a case against 200 people for offering namaz on the road on the occasion of Eid. A senior police officer gave this information. Senior Superintendent of Police Rohit Singh Sajwan said that based on the video of the incident, further action will be taken after identifying the accused.
On Thursday, when the number of worshipers at Idgah reached completion, people sat on the road and offered namaz. There was also a scuffle between the namazis and the police when they were stopped from offering namaz on the road at Shahi Eidgah.
The next day of the incident, i.e. on April 12, a case was registered against 100-200 unknown people on the complaint of Police Sub-Inspector Ramautar Singh of Railway Road police station.
In the complaint given to the police, it has been said that despite being refused by the police, unknown namazis offered namaz on the road due to which the traffic on the road was blocked.
