New Delhi. Before the Lok Sabha elections, Biju Janata Dal (BJD) has suffered a major political setback in Odisha. Lok Sabha MP from Kendrapara, Odisha, Anubhav Mohanty joined BJP on Monday. Anubhav Mohanty took membership of BJP in the presence of BJP National General Secretary Vinod Tawde and Sanjay Mayukh at the party national headquarters. Vinod Tawde, while welcoming Anubhav Mohanty to BJP, said that leaders are continuously coming to BJP to achieve the goal of developed India under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
He said that Mohanty became an MP by winning the Lok Sabha elections in 2019, before which he was elected unopposed to the Rajya Sabha in 2014. Mohanty also works as an actor in Odia and Bengali films. BJP will become stronger with such a young leader and actor joining the party.
After joining BJP, Anubhav Mohanty said that as a Rajya Sabha and Lok Sabha MP, he tried to do his best work and whenever the Modi government came to the House with a good bill, he also supported it in the House.
Referring to several laws like removal of Article 370 and abolition of Triple Talaq, he said that in the last five years, he has seen many historic bills being passed under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, seeing which he felt very proud. He said that every youth of the country should join this family (BJP) and in the coming 5-10 years, India will be considered the best country in the whole world.
Actor and sitting MP from Kendrapara Anubhav Mohanty had resigned from the primary membership of BJD two days ago on March 30, saying that he was feeling suffocated in the party for more than four years. Mohanty is the second sitting MP of BJD after Bhartrihari Mahtab to leave the regional party before the 2024 general elections.
