After the crushing defeat in the assembly elections of all the five states including UP, the Congress has gathered to strengthen the party afresh. Meanwhile, there is news that the Congress party is going to remove all the five presidents including Navjot Singh Sidhu, the heads of these state units. Party general secretary Randeep Surjewala confirmed in a tweet that Sonia Gandhi has sought the resignation of all state Congress presidents from Punjab, Uttarakhand, UP, Goa and Manipur so that a new PCC chief can be reconstituted.
On Tuesday evening, Congress General Secretary Randeep Surjewala tweeted and informed that after the results of the assembly elections in the five states, the party is moving towards reorganization in the state units. In such a situation, party supremo Sonia Gandhi has demanded the resignation of all the state presidents of Punjab, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Goa and Manipur.
It is clear from the instructions of Sonia Gandhi that now the PCC chiefs of all the five states including Navjot Singh Sidhu can be removed soon. Earlier, the Punjab Congress Party had also held a review meeting. In which Congress leaders blamed the defeat on Navjot Singh Sidhu, Charanjit Singh Channi and Sunil Jakhar.
