Nawab Malik, the Minority Welfare Minister in the Maharashtra government and spokesperson of the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP), was arrested by the ED on Wednesday after an eight-hour interrogation. Malik has been sent to ED custody till March 3. Nawab Malik has been accused of money laundering in a land related case with underworld don Dawood Ibrahim. His sister Dr. Saeeda Khan, who reached the ED office on Thursday, was earlier stopped outside. Then they were allowed to enter the building. Where during the meeting in the lift, Malik said that this fight is for truth.

BJP workers protest
After the arrest of Nawab Malik, there was a stir in the political circles. On Thursday, BJP workers demonstrated outside the Pune Municipal Corporation demanding Malik’s resignation. At the same time, Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said that only ED knows the law in this matter. I cannot comment on this. But when you come to know that someone has land with Dawood, it doesn’t seem right. I think Shiv Sena will take the right decision in this matter.
The ED, in its remand application against Malik in the special PMLA court on Wednesday, said that complainant Munira Plumber had filed a complaint in the Small Cause Court in 1989 that Nawab Malik was forcing him to give away his property (Goawala compound). And he was threatening.

After the arrest of Nawab Malik on Wednesday, a tweet was made from Malik’s Twitter handle, in which it was written ‘Main Jhukega Nahi’. He said that I have been arrested, I will not be afraid, I will fight and win. Earlier, when the matter of Malik’s arrest came to light, all the supporters reached outside the ED office and raised slogans fiercely.
