NEET Exam 2024: Amid the uproar over NEET, a committee has made a shocking recommendation. The committee has urged the government to abolish the NEET exam and give admission to MBBS and other medical courses to candidates on the basis of their 12th marks. After this report of the committee, it has become a topic of discussion everywhere whether admissions in medical courses should really be based on 12th marks.
The government had formed a committee in 2021
In fact, after coming to power in Tamil Nadu, the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) formed a committee in 2021 to study the impact of the NEET-based admission process. Justice AK Rajan, a retired judge of the Madras High Court, was made the chairman of this committee. Now the committee has published a report in this regard. The committee says that this report has been prepared on the basis of suggestions received from students, parents and the public and data collected from various sources.
The DMK was the first to foresee the hazards of #NEET and undertook a large-scale campaign against it.
