Hubli. BJP national president J.P. Nadda on Sunday demanded a CBI inquiry into the murder of 23-year-old college student Neha Hiremath. Neha Hiremath (23), daughter of Hubli-Dharwad Municipal Corporation Congress councilor Niranjan Hiremath, was allegedly stabbed to death by her former classmate Faiyaz on April 18 in the BVB College campus. There were widespread protests regarding the incident.
Nadda visited Neha Hiremath’s house and expressed condolences to her family. Later, the BJP President said that if there is a need to hand over the investigation of the case to CBI to ensure justice to the victim, then BJP will cooperate.
Nadda told reporters, ‘I expressed my condolences to the family and have come here to stand with them in this hour of grief. What I heard from her (Neha’s) father and the way her mother narrated the incident, it is a very heart-wrenching incident.
The BJP President condemned the incident and assured justice to the family of the deceased. He said that if the state police is unable to investigate the case, he will request the state government to hand over the case to the CBI.
