Meerut. It is said that the political wind that blows in western Uttar Pradesh also reaches the east. Various political parties are trying their best to turn this political wind in their favor. Unlike 2014 and 2019, this time BJP has made a new move by creating new political equations. This time there is an alliance between RLD and BJP. Due to this political alliance, many issues of West UP cooled down overnight. In such a situation, the opposition is trying to break this alliance. While the BJP-RLD alliance is facing the litmus test for many Jat leaders in the Lok Sabha elections, there is a race for Muslim voters between the SP-Congress alliance and the BSP.
This time a new electoral wind is blowing in Western Uttar Pradesh, which is eager to give a different direction to politics. This riot of politics is old, but the stakes are new. Taking Western UP very seriously, BJP has included RLD along with it. At the same time, the opposition also seems eager to use every means to stop the election chariot of BJP.
Elections on 27 seats of Western UP in first three phases
Out of 80 Lok Sabha seats in the state, elections for 27 seats in Western UP will be almost completed in the first three phases. In such a situation, all the parties have started efforts to hoist their victory flag on these seats. BJP is currently focusing most on 27 seats in Western UP. The reason is clear, out of these, BJP had won 24 in the 2014 Lok Sabha elections. When the last elections came, BJP got a shock here. It could win only 19 out of 27 seats. SP-BSP divided four seats each. The result of this is that this time BJP has given preference to this area and has made an alliance here.
There are more than 18% Jats on the seats in Western Uttar Pradesh. BJP made a move to woo Jat voters by making Bhupendra Chaudhary the state president. Bhupendra Chaudhary is also being tested in this election to see how well he lives up to BJP’s expectations. This is the first Lok Sabha election under the leadership of RLD chief Chaudhary Jayant, hence it is also a litmus test for him.
Jat-Muslim equation shattered in one fell swoop
Here, the number of Muslim voters in Western UP has the potential to change the outcome of any election. SP and BSP had won eight seats in the last elections through this equation. The gap that grew between Jats and Muslims after the Muzaffarnagar riots of 2013 was reduced by the continuous efforts of RLD. Muslims had voted for RLD with open heart but this time this equation has completely changed. As soon as RLD joined BJP, this Jat-Muslim equation has been shattered in one fell swoop. Now whose support will the Muslims support? This is an important question.
In the last election, the margin of victory on 9 seats was less than 25 thousand votes. These included the seats of Meerut, Baghpat and Muzaffarnagar in Western UP. This time, the challenge for BJP is to win these seats by a higher margin of votes, while the opposition would like to win by reducing this margin. From the candidates who have been announced so far in West UP, it can be estimated that every party is trying its best to solve the caste equations.
These candidates are trying their best
Majid Ali from BSP in Saharanpur, Pradeep Kumar from BJP in Kairana, Iqra Hasan from SP, Sanjeev Baliyan from BJP in Muzaffarnagar, Harendra Malik from SP, Dara Singh Prajapati from BSP, Chandan Chauhan from RLD in Bijnor, Yashveer Singh from SP, BSP Chaudhary Bijendra Singh from Nagina, Om Kumar from BJP, Manoj Kumar from SP, Ghanshyam Lodhi from BJP from Rampur, Parmeshwar Lal Saini from BJP from Sambhal, Kanwar Singh Tanwar from BJP from Amroha, Haji Jameel from BSP, Bhanu from SP in Meerut. Pratap Singh, Devvrat Tyagi from BSP, Dr. Rajkumar Sangwan from RLD in Baghpat, Praveen Bainsla from BSP, Mahesh Sharma from BJP in Gautam Budhhagar, Rahul Awana from SP, Dr. Bhola Singh from BJP in Bulandshahr, Bijendra Singh from SP in Aligarh. Jasvir Valmiki from SP is in the fray in Hathras, Hema Malini from BJP in Mathura, SP Singh Baghel from BJP in Agra, Pooja Amrohi from BSP, Praveen Singh Aran from SP in Bareilly.
Caste equations have more resonance than issues in the elections. Due to the alliance of RLD and BJP, many issues have cooled down, so it remains to be seen who wins the battle.
