New Delhi: Before the Lok Sabha elections, the Election Commission is transferring the DM and police officers of the district. In this sequence, the Election Commission on Friday changed the District Magistrates of four districts of West Bengal and Senior Superintendents of Police of five districts of Punjab. Punjab Chief Electoral Officer Sibin C on Friday said the Election Commission has appointed five senior superintendents of police (SSP) in the state.
Along with this, Deepak Pareek has been appointed SSP of Bathinda and Ankur Gupta has been appointed SSP of Jalandhar Rural. Simrat Kaur has been appointed SSP in Malerkotla, Suhail Qasim Mir in Pathankot and Pragya Jain in Fazilka. Whereas in West Bengal, Nair District Magistrates have been appointed in Birbhum, East Bardhaman, Jhargram and East Midnapore.
The commission appointed Joyoshi Das Gupta in East Midnapore, Moumita Basu in Jhargram, K. in East Bardhaman. Radhika Iyer and Shashank Sethi have been made the new DM in Birbhum. Let us inform that on Thursday, the Election Commission had ordered the removal of District Magistrates (DM) of East Medinipur, Jhargram, East Baddhaman and Birbhum. The four removed District Magistrates were from non-IAS cadre i.e. West Bengal Civil Service cadre.
