Amid the ongoing controversy over the alleged meeting between National Investigation Agency (NIA), Kolkata SP DR Singh and senior Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Jitendra Tiwari, AnyTV has learned that SP Singh has been called to Delhi. However, senior NIA officials said it was a ‘routine’ visit and not a ‘return’ order.
NIA has not yet issued any official statement regarding this, but AnyTV has learned that SP Singh took an early morning flight from Kolkata to Delhi and landed in the capital. According to sources related to the case, such action was taken after an order received from the NIA headquarters at midnight. The Central Investigation Agency has sent a DIG rank officer to Kolkata to monitor the investigation. DIG flew from Patna to Kolkata yesterday evening. He is the supervising officer of the case.

In fact, after the arrest of two Trinamool Congress (TMC) leaders in connection with the blast in East Midnapore district of West Bengal in December last year, TMC leaders have been accusing the NIA SP of working at the behest of BJP. Senior leaders including TMC national general secretary Abhishek Banerjee claimed that BJP leader Tiwari had met the NIA SP at his residence on March 26, just a few days before this action. TMC also made public the page of the entry and exit register of the housing complex where the SP lives.

Abhishek Banerjee, while addressing an election rally for party candidate and actor Dev, said that if no action is taken then he will also make the CCTV footage public. The 10-member TMC delegation, which included senior MP Derek O’Brien, Rajya Sabha MP Sagarika Ghosh, Saket Gokhale and others, filed a petition before the Election Commission of India (ECI), demanding transfer of heads of all investigating agencies. done.
Meanwhile, the NIA has moved the Calcutta High Court for relief in the molestation case registered against the officers who attacked them during the raid in East Midnapore.
