The Lankan team won the series 2-0 by defeating host Bangladesh by 192 runs in the second and last test match of the series. In the second test match played at Zahoor Aham Chaudhary Stadium in Chattogram, no batsman from both the teams could score a century, then Sri Lanka set a target of 511 runs. In the first innings, two Sri Lankan batsmen fell victim to nervous nineties while Dimuth Karunaratne missed his century by 14 runs. Kamindu Mendis, who scored 92 runs in the first innings, was chosen as the Player of the Match, while he also became the Player of the Series for scoring the maximum 367 runs in 4 innings.

Middle-order batsman Kamindu Mendis gave Sri Lanka its first success of the day by dismissing Taijul Islam in the fourth over of the day. Kumara then gave victory to Sri Lanka by dismissing Hasan Mahmood and Syed Khalid Ahmed. Sri Lanka scored 531 runs in its first innings. Six batsmen scored half-centuries in this innings.
