Unprecedented demonstrations in Kotputli, administrative officials had to stay in office ‘imprisoned’
Kotputli-Bahrod. There was a unique protest on Tuesday in Kotputli, Rajasthan, when the rural and Advocate Association members, who arrived with their demands, were agitated when they could not meet the Chief Secretary Sudhansh Pant. Angry people locked the main gate of Kotputli Collectorate Office and surrounded the office for about three hours and demonstrated a sit -in.
Chief Secretary Sudhansh Pant reached Kotputli for some time while going from Delhi to Jaipur. During this, the Advocate Association and other villagers expressed their desire to meet him and tried to submit a memorandum. But the administration stopped him from meeting, saying “Chief Secretary is busy”.

Kotputli District Advocate Association President Uday Singh Tanwar said that he was present in the office to meet the Chief Secretary from 3 pm. But the administration kept just waiting for them. In the end, it was found that Sudhansh Pant left Jaipur without any meeting. On hearing this, angry representatives locked the main gate of the collectorate.
‘Administrative shut’ for 3 hours
Collector Kalpana Aggarwal, SP Rajan Dushyant, ADM Omprakash, ASP Vaibhav Sharma and other top officials were trapped inside the office from 5 pm to 8 pm due to lockouts at the gate. The protest continued outside and the officials remained in the meeting room like a ‘imprisonment’ inside.
The administration celebrated, then open locks
Finally, late evening, senior officers of police and administration spoke to the protesters and explained, then the locks were opened and the officers were relieved.
It was not just opposition, it was a warning
This scene of Kotputli has become a picture of anger that arises among the general public and representatives when the voice is ignored. The question is now whether the administration will take any lesson from this public eclipse? Or can the wrangling with the lock the next time hold even more emphasis?
