New Delhi, As IPL 2024 progresses, the headache for the selectors is increasing. At the end of this month the selectors have to choose the team for the World Cup. But the problems for the selectors have increased regarding the middle order. Players like Dinesh Karthik, Shivam Dubey, Rinku Singh and Rishabh Pant are batting amazingly in the middle order. It remains to be seen which player gets the place. Meanwhile, former cricketer Stuart Broad has said that Rishabh Pant should be in the World Cup team.
Stuart Broad said during an interview, “The selection of the Indian team is going to be very interesting. There are still some players who are pending. Rishabh Pant is such a player about whom there is a lot of discussion. He had a shot which he played against KKR. After seeing that moment, I felt that he should be in the World Cup squad. He is also ready for this.”

Broad further said, “He was out of the game for a long time.” He is the captain, he is the wicketkeeper. He can bat at number three, fourth and fifth. I would also like to see him as an impact player in some matches. But that shot was amazing. That’s when I felt that this player should play. After this I felt that his sharpness regarding the match was at its peak. He is a match winning player. If I were a selector, I would have kept him in the World Cup squad for sure.”

If we look at Rishabh Pant’s career, he has scored 2271 runs in 33 Tests at an average of 43.67, 865 runs in 30 ODIs at an average of 34.60 and 987 runs in 66 T20s at an average of 22.43. The biggest specialty of Pant is that he is a stroke player and by scoring runs at a fast pace in all three formats, he demoralizes the opposition bowlers. It will be interesting to see whether he gets a chance in the upcoming T20 World Cup or not.
