nothing Has started an industry first initiative for its fans. Users can design the phone, operating system, wallpaper etc. of their choice. The company’s CEO Carl Pey has announced the Community Edition project through his X handle. This community edition phone will be prepared jointly by the team of users and Nothing. Nothing had recently launched Phone (2a). The company is now preparing for its community edition.
Community Edition Project
Announcing the Nothing Phone (2a) Community Edition project, Carl Pey said that this project is open for all. The registration process for this will start from March 26. Users can register and give suggestions for the Phone (2a) variant of their choice. This project of Nothing will run for the next 6 months, in which there will be four stages.
The first stage will be of hardware design. This will be followed by the wallpaper design stage, then packaging and then the marketing campaign stage. The first i.e. hardware stage is starting in March 2024. After this, the second stage will be completed in May, the third stage in June and the fourth stage in July. It is expected that this community edition phone can be launched in August.
Winners decided through voting
The winner of each stage will be decided by Nothing’s internal panel through voting among the users participating in this Community Edition project. According to the webpage of this community project, a total of four winners will be selected and a product will be created.
Features of Phone (2a)
Nothing Phone (2a) has been launched in India at a starting price of Rs 23,999. The phone comes in 8GB RAM + 128GB, 8GB RAM + 256GB and 12GB RAM + 256GB. Talking about the features of the phone, this smartphone works on MediaTek Dimensity 7200 Pro processor. It has a 6.7 inch 120Hz FHD+ AMOLED display. There are two 50MP cameras and a 32MP selfie camera in the back of the phone. At the same time, this phone supports 45W wired fast charging feature with 5,000mAh battery.
