Aam Aadmi Party is trying to replicate Punjab’s performance in Gujarat. In this sequence, party’s national convener Arvind Kejriwal and Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann have decided to visit Gujarat. Both the leaders can hold a road show in Ahmedabad on April 2. The special thing is that in the civic elections held last year, AAP had performed brilliantly and emerged as the opposition in Surat Municipal Corporation. Assembly elections may be held in Gujarat in December.
According to media reports, senior AAP leader from Gujarat Isudan Gadvi says, “Arvind ji will now focus on Gujarat and in the coming days he can visit the state two to three times in a month.” You are busy expanding your rapidly in the state. According to Gadhvi, the party has already appointed in-charges of 32 thousand booths out of 52 thousand.
Congress’s loss, AAP’s gain!
The increase in the graph of AAP in Gujarat is being linked to the loss of Congress. Senior AAP leaders believe that the Congress missed the opportunity in the year 2017. He says that during that time the Congress was riding on the wave of the Patidar movement and touched a big figure for the first time in 25 years. It also affected the BJP’s seats in Gujarat, which has 182 seats.
“But the results were the result of the agitation and the Congress itself did nothing to ensure the defeat of the BJP,” said an AAP leader. During this, he also pointed towards the Congress MLAs leaving the party. Here, the speculation of 10 more Congress MLAs joining the BJP continues. The Independent MLA of Rajasthan has alerted the top leadership of the Congress in this regard.
Talking to Economic Times, Gadvi said, “In the last 8 months, we have set up committees at district, block and village levels and finally appointed 138 Vidhan Sabha in-charges, who have already been trained.” It is reported that only after the victory in Punjab, party posters started appearing in Ahmedabad as well. Experts believe that party leaders will reach Ahmedabad soon and will speed up the campaigning process.
