The BSP, which won just 1 out of 403 assembly seats in Uttar Pradesh, is now in action mode. On Sunday, party chief Mayawati held a review meeting in Lucknow regarding the defeat. All the leaders of the state were present in this meeting and taking an important decision, Mayawati has dissolved all the committees. Apart from this, the candidate for the by-election to be held in Azamgarh Lok Sabha seat has also been announced. Guddu Jamali has been made a candidate for the by-election from the BSP. He left Asaduddin Owaisi’s party AIMIM and joined BSP.
Akhilesh Yadav has resigned from Azamgarh Lok Sabha seat and has decided to remain the MLA of Karhal. Akhilesh Yadav’s strategy is to appear more active in Lucknow so that the Yogi government can be surrounded. Declaring Guddu Jamali as the candidate may deal a blow to the SP in the Azamgarh by-election, which has generally been getting Muslim votes. Azamgarh seat is Muslim and Yadav dominated, which has been considered as a winning equation for the Samajwadi Party. In such a situation, this announcement of BSP is going to increase the concerns of SP.
Mayawati’s big action, all BSP committees dissolved; Big responsibility to 3 leaders
Shah Alam alias Guddu Jamali had contested the assembly elections from Mubarakpur seat of Azamgarh from Owaisi’s party. He was the only candidate of AIMIM who could save his deposit. In fact, Asaduddin Owaisi had fielded candidates in a total of 100 seats, but the bail was saved in only one seat. It is clear from this that Guddu Jamali also has some support base and this is the reason why BSP has made him a candidate. Guddu Jamali has got a total of 36,419 votes. SP has won from Mubarakpur seat, while BSP was in second place and BJP had to be content with number three.
