Mahasamund (v). The government is committed to the better health of the people living in the slum areas of the urban area. For their health, the government runs various schemes. Through which health facilities are made available to them. In order to improve the health of the citizens of these areas, the state government has started operating such a scheme, which is named Mukhyamantri Slum Health Scheme. Through this scheme, Mobile Medical Unit facility has been started for the treatment and health check-up of citizens living in slum areas. Now citizens living in slum areas will not have to wander anywhere for treatment and medical examination. This mobile medical unit will go to the slum areas.
Under the Mukhyamantri Slum Health Scheme, Mahasamund has got a Mobile Medical Unit (MMU) facility in urban areas and one more unit will be available soon. Municipal officer Ashish Tiwari said that the route chart of slums is being prepared. He said that orders for medicines are also being given to Dhanwantri Generic Medical Store. Now the people living in the slums of the urban areas of the district will get the benefit of regular check-up-treatment-medicine and facility in a better and simpler way. Due to which people living in slum areas will not only be able to get their treatment from doctors at these mobile medical units, but medicines and 42 types of tests will also be done free of cost from here.
For now, the patients of slums will get free check-up, treatment and medicine facilities and better methods. A mobile medical unit equipped with modern equipment will provide health services. 41 types of different lab tests are done in MMU. In these, blood, excreta, urine, sputum, tuberculosis, thyroid, malaria, typhoid are examined by skilled lab technicians with state-of-the-art machines.
In these mobile medical units, MBBS doctors will provide health facilities to the patients by setting up camps in the slums. In the camp with MBBS doctors, pharmacists for free drug distribution, labs to conduct free lab tests, free tests, treatment and medicine facilities will be provided to the patients. Let us inform that the Chief Minister Slum Health Scheme was launched by Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel on the State Foundation Day on November 1, 2020. Presently 60 MMUs equipped with modern equipment are providing health services in all the 14 municipal corporations of the state.
The main objective of this scheme is to provide health services to the citizens living in the slum areas of Chhattisgarh. Now the citizens living in the slum area of the district will not need to go anywhere to get health facilities as the mobile medical unit facility has been provided by the government. Through this unit free health facilities, medicines and test facilities will be provided to the citizens. This scheme will improve the standard of living of the citizens and they will be able to get their diseases treated free of cost.
