Many types of rules have been made while driving a vehicle in India, which are required to be followed by every person who is sitting in the driving seat. You all know that it is illegal to talk on the phone while driving, and for doing so, the police can challan you. But now Road Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari has announced that a person will no longer be penalized for talking on the phone while driving. However, there are some rules that he has to follow.
The minister said that permission would be given to talk on the phone only, but for this it is necessary that the mobile phone is connected to the hands-free device. Also, the mobile phone should be kept in the pocket not in the car. Media reports are even saying that if you are challaned for talking on the phone, then you will be able to challenge it in court. But do not make such a mistake, because the police can still challan the person who is talking directly on the phone while driving.
Nitin Gadkari said, ‘If the driver is using a hands-free device and talking on the phone, then it will not be considered as a punishable offense. In such a situation, the traffic police cannot impose any fine, if it does so, it can challenge it in court.” However, Bangalore Police maintains that using handsfree devices is illegal. Let us tell you, in September 2021, Bangalore Police Announced that they will issue challans to those who are caught using mobile phones in any manner, including using earphones for calls or music, and the amount of the fine was set at Rs 1,000 .
