New Delhi. The Rouse Avenue Court on Thursday rejected the bail plea of Anand Subramaniam, former group operating officer of the National Stock Exchange (NSE).
Earlier on March 11, Justice Sanjeev Agarwal had reserved his decision on Anand’s bail plea.
Opposing Anand’s bail, the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) argued that he was not eligible for bail as he could influence the investigation.
CBI said Anand is an influential person. They think that they will hide under the guise of being a yogi of the Himalayas but we have caught them. They can affect the investigation.
Significantly, Anand was arrested by the CBI on February 24 last. He was in CBI custody till March 9 and since then he is lodged in Tihar Jail in judicial custody.
The CBI had also arrested former NSE chief Chitra Ramakrishna in this case on March 6.
CBI is currently probing the matter.
