The results of the Odisha civic elections are out. State’s ruling party Biju Janata Dal has won 76 civic seats, including three municipal corporations. The special thing is that in this election, the state’s opposition party BJP has also made a good lead and has won at least three city seats in Janmagar.
BJD has won in Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation, Berhampur Municipal Corporation and Cuttack Municipal Corporation elections. From BJD, two Mayor candidates Sulochana Das and Sangmitra Dalei and Subhash Singh defeated BJP and Congress candidates. BJD also won the post of president in 73 notified municipalities. Significantly, voting for 109 urban local seats, comprising Bhubaneswar, Cuttack and Bramhapur municipal corporations, was held on Thursday amid heavy security.
