Bhubaneswar. Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Sunday asked senior government officials to work with greater commitment for the development and progress of the state. Patnaik gave this direction to the officials after his party BJD’s thumping victory in the recently-concluded panchayat elections and urban elections as well, the results of which were declared on Saturday.
Chief Secretary S.C. Mohapatra and DGP Sunil Kumar Bansal, senior state government officials and members of several service associations called on the Chief Minister in good faith and congratulated him for his resounding success in both the urban and rural elections.
The Biju Janata Dal (BJD) under Patnaik’s leadership has set up Zilla Parishads (ZPs) in all 30 districts of the state.
The regional party has also won chairperson seats in 73 municipalities/NACs and mayor seats in all three municipal corporations – Bhubaneswar, Cuttack and Berhampur.
