Water Resources Minister Dr. Mahesh Joshi has instructed the departmental officers that while carrying forward the technical processes like technical approval, tender and work order in drinking water projects, they should always keep in mind the thought of completing all the works in a time bound manner, so that According to the set targets, their benefits can be provided to the general public on time.
Dr. Joshi was presiding over the review meeting of the works of Public Health Engineering Department (PHED) in Jaipur district through video conferencing on Saturday. He directed the officers to prepare and submit a detailed report including the present status of all the drinking water projects, if there is any delay in implementation, the reasons therefor and their suggestions to complete all the works in a time bound manner in the coming days. On the basis of this road map, the works of all important projects including budget announcements will be reviewed at regular intervals.
While reviewing the preparations made so far in view of the additional drinking water requirements of the people in the summer, the Water Minister said that all the officers should utilize the contingency funds for proper drinking water management in their areas during summers. If there is a need for additional amount in addition to acceptance at any place, then after assessing it in advance, prepare a proposal and send it. He directed that the system of water transport through tankers in specific areas should be operated with complete transparency and according to the prescribed norms and said that people should not face any problem in drinking water supply at any place. For this, there should be strict monitoring of the water transport system and the payment process should be ensured by following the prescribed procedures.
Dr. Joshi said that supply of pure and clean drinking water is the top priority of the state government in all drinking water schemes. He directed that in order to ensure the quality of drinking water, samples should be collected from time to time at the level of the department and developed a system for their regular testing. Go. He said that wherever the works have been completed in the AMRUT Mission, the officers of PHED should follow up in coordination with the Municipal Corporation or the concerned agency to get the roads repaired. It was informed in the meeting that 90 percent physical progress has been completed by issuing 5600 connections out of 6238 connections in Jaipur under AMRUT Mission. The Water Minister directed to complete the remaining works of this mission expeditiously.
It was informed in the meeting that an amount of Rs 652.70 lakh has been sanctioned for water transport from April 1 to August 31, 2022 in specific areas of Jaipur city, Bagru, Chaksu, Shahpura, Manoharpur, Biratnagar and Kotputli in summer. Out of these, at present, drinking water is being supplied to the people by transporting 855 tanker trips on daily basis from 152 tankers in Bagru, Biratnagar and Jaipur. Along with this, out of 40 approved handpump works in Jaipur district, commissioning of 33 has been completed by excavating 38 and similarly, against the approval of 443 tubewells, the works of setting up 278 tubewells by digging 350 have been completed. Dr. Joshi also directed the officers to complete the remaining works on priority basis in the coming days.
