India has been ranked 140th in the Global Happiness Index 2022. India is also behind Nepal, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka and Pakistan in this list. Pakistan ranked 67th, Bhutan 95th, Nepal 100th, Bangladesh 125th, Sri Lanka 130th and India 140th in the Global Happiness Index rankings released for the year 2022. On the other hand, if we look at the list of 2021, India was at 136th place. At the same time, Pakistan was ranked 103 in 2021. While Bangladesh and China were ranked 101st and 84th respectively.
In such a situation, Sitaram Yechury tweeted, “The increasing hunger, poverty, unemployment as well as inflation and deteriorating social harmony of the people of India are snatching away the happiness of the people. Communal nationalist linguism gives rise to economic crises and social unrest, which adds to the misery of the people.

Comparing the Global Happiness Index between India and Pakistan, the South Asia Index states that the situation in Pakistan has improved as compared to the previous year.
Let us tell you that the South Asia Index has told on the basis of population review that in 2021 there was a gap of 33 places between India and Pakistan, while in 2022 there is a gap of 72 places.
At the same time, India was ranked 101 out of 116 countries in the Global Hunger Index (GHI) report released last year. Significantly, this neighboring country is also behind Pakistan, Bangladesh and Nepal. At the same time, India was ranked 94 in 2020 but slipped down seven places in 2021.
