Cricket South Africa has announced a 16-man squad for the ODI series against Bangladesh. There has been a lot of debate in the recent times as to whether South African players going for the Indian Premier League (IPL) will be picked for the series against Bangladesh. The board made everything clear by announcing the team. Bangladesh team will play three ODIs and two test matches in South Africa.
South Africa has announced a strong team for the ODI series to be played from March 18 to 23. However, Enrich Nortje and Sisanda Magala will not play due to their respective injuries. The eight players named in the team are those who are also to appear in the 15th season of IPL. They are Kagiso Rabada, Lungi Ngidi, Russi van der Dussen, David Miller, Quinton de Kock, Aiden Markram, Dwayne Pretorius and Marco Jensen.
The South Africa-Bangladesh series will be played in a more relaxed bio-bubble. During this, players will be allowed to go out. Now let’s see how all the eight players are careful just before the IPL. However, the ODI series was not a major concern as it ended before the T20 tournament. It is the Test series which is going to make these South African players uncomfortable.
The two-Test series is to be played from March 31 to April 12.
