Singapore: Foreign Minister S Jaishankar has strongly criticized Pakistan on the issue of terrorism. The Foreign Minister in Singapore on Saturday said Pakistan was sponsoring terrorism as an “industry”. He said that India is not at all in favor of ignoring the problem of terrorism. Jaishankar, who is on a three-day visit to Singapore, made these comments during a question-and-answer session held after a lecture session on his book ‘Why India Matters’ at the Institute of South Asian Studies (ISAS) of the National University of Singapore (NUS).
Responding to a question on India’s relations with Pakistan, he said, “Every country wants a stable neighbourhood. If nothing else, you at least want a peaceful neighbourhood.” This is not the case with. He said that Pakistan is sponsoring terrorism against India. “How do you deal with a neighbor that openly admits the fact that it uses terrorism as an instrument of governance,” he asked.
India will no longer ignore terrorism
Jaishankar said, “This is not a one-time event. But it is a continuous event, almost at an industry level. So we have come to the conclusion that we have to find a way to deal with this (threat), in which we Can help in getting rid of this problem.” He said, ”I don’t have any quick solution (to this problem). But I can tell you that India will no longer ignore this problem. We have a problem and we should make sincere efforts to face this problem. Jaishankar said, India’s stance is no longer to ignore terrorists. (Language)
