Afghan Taliban broke the promise
Asif said that Taliban leaders had promised Pakistan that Tehreek-e-Taliban (TTP) terrorists would not use their land. Also, sitting in Afghanistan, these terrorists will not be able to execute any terrorist attack plan on Pakistan. Asif said that the promise made by the Taliban government to take action against the terrorists has not lived up to it.
“The Taliban have not kept their promise and if they fail to do so, then we will have to do something,” Asif said. Asif said that there is no doubt that there are terrorists on his soil and it would be very important for Pakistan to eliminate them.
Asif said – difficult to tolerate
“We have to kill these terrorists as we cannot tolerate this situation for long,” he said. In August 2021, the Taliban had captured Afghanistan. Pakistan believes that since then there has been an increase in terrorist attacks by TTP. According to the Islamabad-based Pakistan Institute for Peace Studies, there have been at least 262 terror attacks in the country in the year 2022 and TTP was responsible for at least 89 of them. Pakistan believes that ever since the regime change in Afghanistan, deadly attacks are taking place daily in Pakistan, in which army and policemen are being targeted.
terrorist plot in afghanistan
Pakistan alleges that a few years ago, after the Pakistani Army’s operation in Pakistan’s areas bordering Afghanistan, TTP is engaged in carrying out terrorist conspiracies from Afghanistan. Pakistan has always claimed that thousands of TTP fighters had to flee due to the military operation. Last April, Pakistan claimed to have a TTP outpost in eastern Afghanistan. “Hopefully, the security threat to his country will not escalate to the point where Pakistan has to do something that our neighbors and our brothers in Kabul will not like,” Asif said.
