New Delhi. Ramdev and Balkrishna’s troubles are showing no signs of ending in the misleading advertisement issue given by Patanjali. After continuous strong rebuke from the Supreme Court in the first two appearances, today again Ramdev and Balkrishna had to face the displeasure of the apex court. During today’s appearance, Ramdev’s lawyer told the Supreme Court that we have published a public apology in 67 newspapers across the country yesterday. On this, the bench of Justice Hima Kohli and Ahsanuddin Amanullah asked whether the apology letter was printed in the same size as the misleading advertisement. The bench also asked Ramdev why he got the public apology published just before the hearing? Along with this, the court ordered to highlight the apology and publish it in large size. The next hearing of the case will be on April 30 in which Ramdev and Balakrishna will again have to appear in person.
The Supreme Court told the Indian Medical Association that when it is pointing fingers at Patanjali, four fingers are being pointed at them. Your doctors are also endorsing medicines in the allopathy field. If this is happening, then we should look at you (IMA)? Let us tell you that earlier during the hearing on April 16, the Supreme Court had strongly reprimanded Ramdev and Balkrishna and refused to accept their apology. Then Ramdev had said that we are ready to apologize publicly. On this matter, an apology letter was published in the newspapers today by Ramdev and Balkrishna in which it was said, Patanjali Ayurveda fully respects the dignity of the apex court. We sincerely apologize for the mistake of publishing the advertisement and holding the press conference. We commit that such a mistake will not be repeated in future.
In the last hearing, the Supreme Court had reprimanded Ramdev and said that we know what you are doing is business. The Ayurveda you are promoting is very old in our culture. It is not fair to dismiss allopathy for the sake of saying that something is good. Let us tell you that a petition was filed in the Supreme Court on 17 August 2022 on behalf of the Indian Medical Association. It said that Patanjali did negative publicity against Covid vaccination and allopathy. At the same time, he has falsely claimed to cure some diseases with his own Ayurvedic medicines. IMA has demanded action against Patanjali in this matter.
