Tension continues in Punjab’s Patiala after violence on Friday. In view of the gravity of the situation, the state government has decided to temporarily suspend mobile internet services in the city. At present, 4 FIRs have been registered in the matter. At the same time, many organizations have called for a city bandh in protest against the violence. During an anti-Khalistan rally in Patiala, two groups clashed outside the Kali temple. Four people including two policemen were injured in this incident.
Patiala Deputy Commissioner has appealed to the people of the city to maintain peace. He said that mobile internet services have been suspended from 9.30 am to 6 pm as a precautionary measure. He informed that FIR has been registered regarding the incident and the police is continuously conducting guerilla action. Patiala SSP Nanak Singh has asked not to rely on any false information.
Even before this, the police had imposed an 11-hour curfew in the district. Action was taken against Patiala IG Rakesh Agarwal a day after the incident. Amidst the call for Patiala bandh, Singh has met Giriji, the head of the All India Security Committee. Hindu organizations have been continuously opposing the incident and have demanded the arrest of ‘Khalistan supporters’.

Shiv Sena (Bal Thackeray) had organized ‘Khalistan Murdabad March’. During this, there was a clash with Sikh activists including some Nihangs of the group. After this, stone pelting took place between the two groups and slogans were raised. After the incident, curfew was imposed in Patiala district from 7 pm to 6 am on Friday. Heavy police force is deployed in the area.

According to media reports, Pawan Gupta of an organization named Shiv Sena Hindustan says that Khalistan supporters have attacked the temple. He has made allegations of desecration of the temple.
