Bhilai. During the first wave of Corona, the bills of BSP employees and their dependents undergoing treatment in private hospitals will be paid soon. The payment of this reimbursement amount was stuck for two years due to departmental negligence. Recently, ITAK Union discussed with the BSP management to demand early payment in this matter and also to pay those who are not able to deposit the bills within the stipulated time. After this the management has assured the payment soon. Under this, an amount ranging from one to five lakhs has to be paid to the employees in the form of reimbursement.
In the year 2020, during the first wave of Corona, the employees of Bhilai Steel Plant and their dependents were also affected by the infection. During this, the management had not given permission to the Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru Sector-9 Hospital of Bhilai Steel Plant as a COVID-19 hospital, due to which the employees and their dependents were forced to be admitted to private hospitals due to lack of treatment. The cost of treatment in the hospital ranged from 1.5 lakh to five lakh rupees. The Bhilai Steel Plant management started refusing to pay the cost of treatment of these workers and their dependents in private hospitals due to non-availability of rules at that time. The matter was discussed with Director-in-Charge Anirban Das Gupta and Executive Director Health and Services Dr. SK Issar, and Executive Director Personnel and Administration KK Singh and demanded to settle the matter at the earliest. The management has started taking action regarding this. The employees have been informed to pay the amount for the treatment of corona infection in 2020 soon.
Late deposited bill should also be paid
The meeting of INTUC Union was held with the Executive Director Health Services of BSP. During this, Additional General Secretary Sanjay Sahu, Deputy General Secretary Animesh Sweat, Secretary Manik Ram Janendra demanded that the personnel suffering from COVID-19 infection and their dependents who have been treated in outside hospitals, they themselves or their dependents get infected due to time. But could not deposit the bill and other documents. Due to which their bill has not been paid yet. Such people were also demanded to be paid soon. On this the management assured to start the process at the earliest. It is worth mentioning that the employees are worried about this.
