Srikanth was born in 1992 in a farmer family in Andhra Pradesh. He was blind from birth. People suggested his parents to send him to the orphanage. Although his parents always supported him. He was very good in studies, he got 98 percent marks in the board in 12th. Everyone was surprised to see the result. After that he started preparing for IIT. During this the coaching center refused to give him admission. But he didn’t give up. He could not go to IIT due to lack of proper guidance, but today IIT students consider him as their role model.
Unable to get into IIT, Srikanth applied for MIT, the top technology school in America and became the first international student to be selected blind. After completing his studies, he could lead a comfortable life. But he decided to return to India and started his own company. He started Bolent Industries 9 years ago. His talent was recognized by the country’s leading businessman Ratan Tata and he invested in his company. Bolant Industries, which manufactures packaging solutions, continues to grow strongly. The company is planning to raise Rs. 150 crores turnover. Srikanth’s company has 5 manufacturing plants and more than 650 people work in the company. About half of these people come from the handicapped category.
