New rates of petrol and diesel have been issued by the government oil distribution companies on Sunday (July 17, 2022). This is the 57th consecutive day when no change has been made in the price of petrol and diesel in the country. In the country’s capital Delhi, petrol is priced at Rs 96.72 per liter while one liter of diesel remains at Rs 89.72. In Kolkata, a liter of petrol is being sold at Rs 106.03 and diesel at Rs 92.76. At the same time, the cost of a liter of petrol in Chennai, the largest city of the south, is Rs 102.63 and the price of diesel is Rs 94.24 per litre.
Petrol-Diesel became cheaper in Mumbai: People have got some relief from inflation after the Maharashtra government reduced VAT on petrol-diesel.
