Condoling the demise, Union Minister for Youth Affairs and Sports Anurag Thakur tweeted, “Very sad to learn that Tamil Nadu paddler, Deendayalan Vishwa has passed away. Table Tennis Championship. Condolences to his family and friends.
Let us tell you that Tamil Nadu table tennis player Deendayalan was killed while three of his teammates were injured in a road accident in Meghalaya. The tragic incident took place on Sunday when 18-year-old Vishwa and three other tennis players from Tamil Nadu were on their way from Guwahati airport to Shillong to participate in the 83rd Senior National Table Tennis Championships.
During this his taxi rammed into a truck. He was seriously injured in this accident. He died on the way to Nongpoh Civil Hospital.
The other three injured players are undergoing treatment at the Indira Gandhi Regional Institute of Health and Medical Sciences (NEIGRIHMS) in Shillong. Doctors say that all three players are now out of danger. His condition remains stable now.
