Prime Minister Narendra Modi, while addressing the Startup Mahakumbh program on Wednesday, promised that he will make India the third largest economy in the world in his third term. He said, ‘With more than 25 lakh startups and 110 unicorns, India has emerged as the third largest startup ecosystem in the world and is preparing a roadmap to become a developed nation with the right decisions. While addressing the ‘Startup Mahakumbh’ program organized at Pragati Maidan in Delhi, Prime Minister Modi said that India’s startup ecosystem is no longer limited to just metro cities, it has now become a social culture.
India will become the world’s third largest economy
On this occasion, PM Modi promised that in his third term he will make India the third largest economy in the world. He said that startups will play a big role in India’s progress. “The Startup India initiative provides a platform to innovative ideas and connects entrepreneurs and enterprises with funding,” he said.
Youth are becoming job givers and not job takers
Highlighting the changing mindset of the people, Modi said that the youth of India have chosen the path of becoming job creators instead of job seekers. He said that more than 45 percent of Indian startups are headed by women. The Prime Minister said that India has democratized technology, hence the principle of haves and have-nots cannot work in this field. Modi said the Rs 1 lakh crore fund announced for research and innovation in the interim budget will help emerging sectors.
