new Delhi. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will virtually inaugurate the ‘Biplobi Bharat Gallery’ at the Victoria Memorial Hall in Kolkata on 23 March. He will also address a gathering during the program on the occasion of Martyrs’ Day.
The Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) said that the gallery displays the contribution of the revolutionaries in the freedom struggle and their armed resistance to the British colonial rule.
The PMO said, “This aspect has often not been given its proper place in the mainstream narrative of the freedom movement. The aim of this new gallery is to provide a holistic view of the events up to 1947 and to highlight the important role played by the revolutionaries. “
The Biplobi Bharat gallery showcases the political and intellectual background that gave impetus to the revolutionary movement. It shows the birth of revolutionary movement, formation of important associations by revolutionary leaders, spread of movement, formation of Indian National Army, contribution of naval rebellion, etc.
