Mumbai: The step brother of Hardik Pandya, the all-rounder of the Indian cricket team and the captain of Mumbai Indians in IPL, has been arrested by the Mumbai Police. The Economic Offenses Wing of Mumbai Police has arrested Vaibhav, step brother of Hardik Pandya-Krunal Pandya in a 3-year-old case of alleged forgery.
Police said that on the basis of Hardik’s complaint, EOW has arrested Vaibhav Pandya. At present, accused Vaibhav has been sent to police custody for 5 days. According to Mumbai Police, the accused arrested by the police is the step brother of Pandya Brothers (Hardik Pandya-Krunal Pandya) and the case in which he has been arrested is of the year 2021.
Police said that accused Vaibhav Pandya, along with Pandya Brothers (Hardik Pandya-Krunal Pandya), had started a company in polymer business. Hardik and Krunal’s stake in this company was 40-40 percent, while Vaibhav had 20 percent stake.
Police further said, ‘According to the terms of partnership, the profit from the company was to be divided among three in the same ratio. Instead of giving the company’s profit money to Pandya Brothers, accused Vaibhav formed a separate company and transferred the profit amount to it. Due to this, the Pandya brothers suffered a loss of about Rs 4.3 crore.
