Sadar police station in-charge Anil Vishnoi said that this action was carried out late on Monday night. Police stopped a car coming from Gujarat near Panihari intersection on the basis of suspicion. When the police searched the car, they found two kilos of gold in it. This gold was hidden in the gear box of the car and was in the form of biscuits. 20 gold biscuits worth 100 grams each were found in the car.
Police detained both the youths
The people in the car could not give any satisfactory answer regarding these gold biscuits. On this, the police seized the gold and took both the people in the car into custody. The market value of the seized gold is more than Rs 2.5 crore. Vishnoi told that the main role in the action was played by Ramniwas Jat and Jasaram Kumawat of DST team. The police are currently interrogating the two youths in the car.
Gold was brought from Gujarat, was being taken to Jodhpur
Preliminary inquiry has revealed that both the youths had brought this gold from Gujarat. They were taking it to Jodhpur. It is not yet known from whom the gold was brought to Gujarat and where it was to reach Jodhpur. Along with seizing the gold, the police also seized his car and three mobile phones.
