In Mainpuri, the robbers who ran away after robbing Rs 1.38 lakh from the couple six days ago, surrendered at the SP office on Monday. The two robbers reached the SP office with placards around their necks and pleaded to be sent to jail after being saved from the encounter. When the robbers reached the office, the police swung into action and caught both the robbers and presented them in front of the SP. The caught robbers have revealed many incidents of robbery in various districts including Mainpuri.
On Monday, around 11 am, two youths reached the SP office with placards around their necks. On the placards, he had written about not having an encounter and sending him to jail. When the soldiers caught sight, the constable took both of them to the SP Ashok Kumar Rai. Where during interrogation, he told his names Pramod son Mehtab Singh resident of Nagla Dam Mangalpur Kanpur Dehat and Satish son Mulayam Singh resident of Auraiya. The SP gave him the custody of the Kotwali police. During interrogation, the accused admitted to several incidents of robbery in different districts.
The robbers ran away after robbing the couple on March 29
On March 29, the same accused had robbed one lakh 38 thousand rupees from the couple Sunil and Kusuma Devi, residents of Mahigwan of Kishni. The couple had brought money from the same bank to get the lantern for the house. The accused had come out of jail only six months back. The SP said that since the incident, apart from the SWAT team and surveillance team, teams of station in-charge Kishni Dharmendra Kumar, Kusmra outpost in-charge Rupesh Kumar had been deployed. Fearing these, the accused surrendered.
