Raipur (Naiduniya Representative). In Chhattisgarh state, two major vaccination campaigns are being started for child protection. Polio medicine will be given to children from February 27. A target has been set to provide this medicine to 36 lakh 25 thousand 940 children across the state. At the same time, the sequence of giving vitamin-A and iron supplements will start from March 4.
According to the Health Department, this campaign will run at the state level. Its main objective is to provide protection to children from various diseases. In the polio campaign, children will be given polio medicine by making booths at railway stations, bus stands and at the road crossings in the city. The second campaign will be in the form of child protection month. In this, vitamin-A supplements will be given to children from nine months to five years. Children between the age of six months to five years will be given iron and folic acid syrup.

Chhattisgarh State Immunization Officer Dr. V.R. Bhagat said that the vaccine and other logistics for the campaign have been made available in the districts. He informed that a total of 14,504 booths have been set up in the state by combining urban and rural areas. Children from birth to five years will be given two drops of Pulse Polio in these booths from 8 am to 4 pm.
A total of 29,008 vaccine teams will work in these booths, in which 58,015 vaccine workers will be posted. Vaccine workers are basically health workers, mittensins, Anganwadi workers and Anganwadi helpers. Training of all these has been completed at village, sector, primary health center level and block level. During the campaign, 2901 supervisors will do the work of supervision of all the booths.
