Muzaffarnagar. For more than a year, there was a peasant movement against the three agricultural laws. Farmers created a ruckus on all the borders of Delhi. Violence also took place in Delhi. Despite this, there was no effect of this farmer movement in 4 states including UP in the past and BJP again won the assembly elections in these states and sat in power. This victory of BJP is no longer being embraced by those who do politics by taking the name of farmers. They are grieving over their failure. Similar annoyance was seen in the statement of Bharatiya Kisan Union BKU chief Naresh Tikait. Naresh Tikait’s brother Rakesh Tikait had also participated a lot in the farmers’ movement and stayed on the Delhi border for a year.
However, we are going to tell you the annoyance of Naresh Tikait, not Rakesh. Naresh Tikait’s disappointment came to the fore when asked about the victory of BJP in 4 states including UP. He said that people are inclined towards BJP, what can we do for this? It is their choice who they want to vote for. We are neither happy nor sad. This is a free country. This annoyance and disappointment of Naresh Tikait over BJP’s victory is visible. Whereas, during the elections, he and Rakesh Tikait were continuously instigating voters against BJP by taking the names of farmers.
#WATCH I want to tell our office bearers not to sit on dharnas & waste time. No use…Sit with district admin & discuss, instead of jamming roads on trivial matters. We’ll look into bringing discipline… Farmers’ (issue)a small one, not so big…:BKU’s Naresh Tikait in UP (25.4) pic.twitter.com/rlSWash1Qy

Naresh Tikait tweeted ahead of the first round of voting in western UP. In this he wrote that not NOTA, vote in the election. Hit the issues of farmers. I will vote in Sisauli with family. Join us in the great sacrifice of democracy. At the same time, when his brother Rakesh Tikait returned to Sisauli, there were many such hoardings on the way, in which photos of SP President Akhilesh Yadav and Rashtriya Lok Dal RLD Chief Jayant Chaudhary were with him. Rakesh Tikait later admitted that he was offered to contest the elections from the SP alliance. Whereas, Yogendra Yadav, the leader of the United Kisan Morcha SKM, who organized the farmers’ agitation, had said that we had made a pitch and gave it, but Akhilesh could not bat. It was also clear that the real objective of the farmers’ movement was to defeat the BJP in the elections, but this could not happen.
