Patna Once upon a time, there was a lot of filtering of Congress and Rashtriya Janata Dal RJD. In the central government of the Congress, RJD supremo Lalu Yadav used to be given big ministries, but in the last few years, the relationship between Congress and Lalu turned sour. These relations are still bad and the Congress in Bihar may have to bear the brunt of it in the coming times. Actually, this year 5 Rajya Sabha MPs are to be elected from Bihar. 7 members of the Legislative Council will retire in June. In such a situation, without the help of Lalu, the Congress is not going to get a single seat in both the elections.
In the 2015 assembly elections, there was an alliance between Congress and RJD. Then 80 MLAs of RJD and 29 of Congress were elected. In 2016, a member of Congress also went to the Legislative Council. In 2018, two of his members went to the Legislative Council. Another Congress member went to the Legislative Council in 2020. Now the Congress is in trouble because of the tussle with the RJD. The Congress has a total of 19 members in the Bihar Legislative Assembly. It is difficult to win his own Rajya Sabha or Legislative Council member from such a number. At least 40 MLAs are needed for a Rajya Sabha seat. In such a situation, it is not easy to send someone from Bihar to Rajya Sabha.
Talk about the Legislative Council, then the Congress will need the help of other parties to choose one of its members. There will be 11 members less in the Legislative Council in the year 2024. In such a situation, a member of the Congress can be elected by the vote of 20-21 MLAs, but if other parties break into the Congress itself, then not even a member will be elected. In such a situation, a big political crisis has arisen for the Congress in Bihar.
